PodShots?

Begin Rant:

Dear Alberta Driver,

In a double left turning lane, if you are in the leftmost lane, you must finish your turn in the leftmost lane. If you do not, you will cut off the driver in the rightmost turning lane. You do not have the right to randomly select where your left turn will end. Start left...Stay left jackass!

End Rant.

Man - don't get me started on "pedestrian issues." In my opinion, the downtown areas of most major cities (Toronto, definitely) should be car-free with the exception of deliveries made in the early morning. Oh, and I would say that "accessible transit vehicles" should also be allowed in. Eliminate the cars and you eliminate 90% of the pedestrian issues.

In a city with decent transit (I understand from what you say that Calgary is not among those), there really is no need for anyone to drive and in fact having a car becomes a liability.

Listen to me - now you've got me ranting!

Yes transit suck in Calgary sucks. Except for downtown. The LRT feeds the core very well and we have free transit with in the core. However, there is no where to park near the core and in -30 it sucks to walk around if you just have a quick stop. Now, I completely support a "toll" on downtown driving during peak times. I also support limited short term parking in the core.

BTW Todd, sorry about your lossing the toilet seat battle.

Transit outside the core ( I assume you're referring to buses) can only be improved when there is a technology out there that lets Buses fly over the rest of traffic in this growing city and lets Buses bypass accidents, construction sites, etc as well.

BTW - Why doesn't Calgary have a law like Vancouver where you have to wait for and let in a bus that is pulling out of a stop ?
